MarconISSta was presented at this year’s ARISS (Amateur Radio on the ISS) face-2-face meeting. This meeting by ARISS to update each other on current and future ham activities on the ISS. Since MarconISSta aims to use the ham antennas, we need approval and support from ARISS.
Martin traveled to Rome to present our concept and discuss technical details. The ARISS meeting minutes read:
“[…] That ARISS International favours the MarconISSta proposal subject to Technical Evaluation & Support (TE&S) committee coordination and final approval.”
This is good news for us, as it shows the general support from ARISS. We now have to discuss the remaining technical details, e.g. how to switch between the transceivers and antennas, operation times, etc etc.
